Sycamore’s Federated Church will hold a series of adult discussions called “Evensong” on Tuesday evenings beginning this week and running through Oct. 30.
Participants will explore their individual life journeys while sharing thoughts, experiences, doubts and current beliefs. For the first session, each person is asked to bring an object, photo or memento that is representative of their life or special to them to speak of to the rest of the group.
Sessions will begin at 6:46 p.m. and last no longer than two hours, with each session having a theme and an advance project geared toward that theme. There will be a consistent order of service, including meditation and singing, with a sharing time.
The series will be moderated by Pastor Dennis Johnson, and church members Gretchen and Charles Sigwart and Jerry Lane. There is no fee to participate and members of the community are welcome. Interested individuals are asked to commit to the full eight-week series and should register by calling the church office at 815-895-2706 prior to the first session. Call the office for a list of weekly topics or for questions.
Federated Church is located at 612 W. State St. in Sycamore; parking is available behind the building, off of Greeley Street. “Evensong” will be held in Becker Chapel, at the north end of the church.
