NIU Annuitants to see ‘Singin’ in the Rain’

Published: Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 5:30 a.m. CDT

The Northern Illinois University Annuitants Association will travel to Drury Lane on Nov. 15 to see the matinee of “Singin’ in the Rain.”

“Singin’ in the Rain” is based on the 1954 film starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, which the American Film Institute named the No. 1 Greatest Movie Musical of all time and The New York Times called “the happiest movie musical ever made.”

Exhilarating dance numbers, a toe-tapping score, and an effervescent love story create a delightful stage production that honors both MGM’s magnificent movie musicals of the 1940s and the revolutionary birth of the talking motion picture.

The group will depart DeKalb at 10 a.m. for the 2 p.m. matinee performance that includes a pre-show luncheon.
