Bluegrass Jam at the Farm is Sunday

Published: Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 5:30 a.m. CST

Bluegrass musicians of all skill levels will be at the Bluegrass Jam at the Farm on Sunday at the Dickson-Murst Farm in Montgomery.

They will play the music they love – some fast, some slow and all with the feeling of the country that only bluegrass can bring to a soul. If you’re learning to play, haven’t touched an instrument in years or just love the music, come and sit around the circle, too.

Affordable food will be available from the Country Kitchen, and antique tractors and hayrides will be offered around the grounds.

Jam at the Farm is a free event; activities are set from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Conservation Foundation, owner of the site and co-host of the event, notes that the event will be held rain or shine. If the weather does not cooperate, activities will move into the century-old barn and 1950s era corncrib.

Dickson-Murst Farm is at 2550 Dickson Road on the west side of Montgomery. It is one mile east of Route 47, two miles west of Orchard Road, between Route 30 and Galena Road. For information or directions, call 630-272-0686.
