Saint Peter’s sets fall worship schedule

Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Sycamore will return to its regular worship schedule on Sunday. Services will be held at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

The 7:30 a.m. service offers the traditional language of Rite One. The service is quiet and contemplative, and the focus of the prayers is on the cross and passion of Christ, God’s mercy, and our penitence. The language of this service dates to the roots of Anglicanism in the 1500s.

The 10 a.m. service offers the contemporary language of Rite Two. The service is a joyful and exuberant celebration of the resurrection of Christ, God’s love, and the dignity and freedom we receive through the power of the resurrection. Hymns are sung by the congregation, and organ and piano music also are featured. Child care for infants and toddlers through age 3 is offered during the service.
