Officer rucks across Sycamore

SYCAMORE – A Sycamore police sergeant participated this weekend in a nationwide effort to raise money for the Green Beret Foundation.

As part of Ruck Across America, people who have participated in GoRuck challenges relay a GoRuck GR1 backpack across the country with the goal of raising $100,000 for the Green Beret Foundation, a nonprofit that assists wounded Army Special Forces veterans and families.

Sycamore police Sgt. Jeff Wig has taken part in a GoRuck challenge, so when he saw volunteers were needed to carry the pack through Illinois, he was eager to participate. Wig said he’s passionate about efforts to help wounded veterans.
