DeKalb County housing market making small, but steady strides

Home prices still aren't close to where they were before the housing bubble burst, but that doesn't spell "doom and gloom" for realtor Kelly Miller.

"I'm seeing some positive indicators that we've started to plateau," said Miller, a broker and realtor with Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell in Sycamore. "We've been in a declining market for the last four years and it's starting to stabilize. That's great news."

Some areas of the country, including Chicago, enjoyed slight bumps in home prices this spring, according to a recent study by Standard & Poor's and Case Shiller. The study showed that home prices increased 2.2 percent across the country from April to May.
