KC PTK chapter receives awards at regional conference
The Alpha Rho Eta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Kishwaukee College was recognized with nine awards at the Phi Theta Kappa Regional Convention held at Harper College in Palatine in June.
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society has chapters in colleges across the United States and the world. The purpose of this international honor society is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. The society provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, an intellectual climate to exchange ideas and ideals, lively fellowship for scholars, and stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
Ten students and the two co-advisers from Kishwaukee College attended the Regional Convention. Students Katrina Stone, Sebastian Dargatz, Carly Hoecherl and Tia Williams presented an Education Forum session at the convention and faculty co-adviser Laurie Hoecherl led an adviser roundtable session.
