SYCAMORE – Volleyball players dug their heals into the sand Saturday for a good cause.
DeKalb firefighters hosted a tournament to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association with its first sand volleyball tournament fundraiser. Muscular dystrophy is a disorder where muscle tissues weaken or diminish, and gets worse over time. It can occur in childhood or adulthood.
The tournament was hosted by the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1236 and drew about 40 people, including 11 members of the Kishwaukee College women's volleyball team.
