DeKalb man receives probation for forgery
SYCAMORE – A DeKalb man charged with writing bad checks was sentenced Thursday to more than two years of probation.
During a hearing at the DeKalb County Courthouse, Robert E. McKinney, 21, of the 700 block of Fotis Drive in DeKalb, pleaded guilty to deceptive practice, forgery, identity theft and domestic battery.
He was one of a handful of people charged last year with identity theft as a result of an investigation into the reported use of a fraudulent check at a credit union.
