DeKalb nears vote on video gambling
DeKALB – Believing it is time to make a decision, the DeKalb City Council will put together an ordinance and probably vote on the issue of legalizing video gambling at its next meeting.
Residents weighed in on the issue at a public hearing during Monday night’s meeting. Concerned residents highlighted the costs – social and otherwise – video gambling terminals at local bars and clubs would bring.
“This is a lose-lose situation financed by 95 percent of DeKalb citizens,” said John Anderson of DeKalb.
