Northern Illinois tight end and Sycamore graduate Jason Schepler has been nominated for the 2012 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, Allstate Insurance Company and the American Football Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes a select group of college football players who have shown outstanding commitment to community service and volunteerism.

Schepler, who missed the 2011 season due to an injury, has at least 14 hours of community service projects each semester, ranging from spending time with the elderly to working with elementary school kids.
