GENOA – Making $220 in a couple of hours was a fine way for Melissa Clemente to spend her Friday morning.

Clemente is operating one of 70 garage sales taking place this weekend in Genoa’s first Community Garage Sale. The event, which started Thursday and runs through today, has attracted hundreds of shoppers with some coming from Rockford, Burlington and Chicago.

Despite sitting out Thursday, Clemente’s garage sale brought in more than $200 before noon Friday because of the increased traffic from having so many sales in one area.
