TAILS launches ‘Pawsitive’ animal activities program
DeKALB – Four-legged (and maybe some two-legged) friends might be spotted in the community more frequently thanks to a new program launched by TAILS Humane Society.
The organization received a $10,000 grant at the end of April from the Douglas C. and Lynn M. Roberts Family Foundation to start its “Pawsitive TAILS” animal-assisted activities program.
Those interested in volunteering with a well-tempered pet – whether it’s a dog, cat, bird or rabbit – can participate in an informational session about becoming a certified handler. Pet Partners, formerly known as Delta Society, has partnered with TAILS to provide training and certification for animal-handler pairs.
