Letter: Tea party members need to get their story straight

To the Editor:

Letter writer Dan McIntyre, who identifies himself as a “DeKalb County Tea Party board member,” chastises previous letter writer John Omerod for pointing out the tea party hates compromise.

McIntyre’s letter seems to contradict the contention of a previous letter writer, Ted McCarron, who also identifies as “board member, DeKalb County Illinois Tea Party.” McCarron states the tea party does not target just Democrats but also “double-crossing Republicans who seek compromise with Democrats.” Whereas McCarron describes tea partiers as “watchdogs,” fellow tea party board member McIntyre denies they are watchdogs.
