Chicago police officer involved in fatal shooting
CHICAGO – Authorities say a Chicago police officer fatally shot a man after the man allegedly pulled out a gun when officers wanted to him for questioning.
Officers in a patrol car were on the city's South Side around 5 a.m. Sunday when they spotted a man running. The officers told the man to stop but he didn't.
Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden says the officers believed the man was fumbling with something which police later learned was a black knit cap containing a gun. Authorities allege the man pulled the gun from the cap. An officer then opened fire.
