Houy ready to step up as DeKalb AD

DeKALB – Bryon Houy will step into shoes Dan Jones had occupied since 2005 as DeKalb High School’s athletic and activities director.

Houy was unanimously approved by DeKalb School District 428’s Board of Education at a special Friday afternoon meeting. Houy was not at Friday’s meeting, as he was at a golf booster event as a part of his duties as athletic director of both Belvidere and Belvidere North high schools and two middle schools there.

His official start date is July 23, but Houy said he will split his time between his current job and his new one, using his vacation time in the afternoons.
