SANDWICH — The fireworks display planned for Sunday in Sandwich has been postponed because of hot and dry conditions.
Fire department and Sandwich fairgrounds officials walked the grounds Monday where fireworks are shot and determined that the area was too dry, said Starr Frederick, treasurer of the Sandwich Park District.
Planned fireworks displays in DeKalb, Shabbona and Kirkland still were set to go on as scheduled as of this morning.
