KC Center offers forklift class

The Kishwaukee College Center for Business Development and Continuing Education (the KC Center) is offering a Forklift Operation and Train-the-Trainer class from 9 a.m. to noon July 19. The class will meet in Room A-220 in the Kishwaukee College Conference Center. The cost is $99.

The class will cover the classroom requirements of the new Powered Industrial Truck Standard. OSHA defines a powered industrial truck as a “mobile, power propelled truck used to carry, push lift, stack, or tier material.” In addition, selected employees will attend an additional one-hour “train the trainer” session to receive the information and materials to develop an in-house training program for their respective businesses.

The instructor is Jeff Clark, who has more than 20 years of experience as a safety and health instructor and has developed, written and delivered many customized programs meeting OSHA requirements and standards. Clark uses innovative, hands-on training techniques.
