DeKalb car fire damages buildings

DeKALB – One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a car fire that spread to a garage late Sunday in DeKalb.

DeKalb firefighters responded about 11:20 p.m. to the 300 block of Pond Street for a car on fire, according to a news release from the DeKalb Fire Department.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and stopped it from spreading to the home, getting it under control within a half hour. The resident of the home suffered some smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene, according to the news release. Cortland, Malta and Sycamore fire departments also responded.
