DeKALB – A person was treated for smoke inhalation after a car fire that left two buildings damaged Sunday in DeKalb.
DeKalb firefighters responded about 11:20 p.m. to the 300 block of Pond Street for a car on fire; the fire also had spread to the garage, according to a news release from the DeKalb Fire Department.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and stopped it from spreading to the home, getting it under control within a half hour.
The resident of the home suffered some smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene, according to the news release. Cortland, Malta and Sycamore fire departments also responded.
The fire caused $85,000 worth of damage, according to the news release.
A nearby home also was damaged.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
