The U.S. Agriculture’s Department of Risk Management Agency is reminding farmers to report 2012 spring crop acreage to insurance agents by July 15.

Crops in Illinois include spring cabbage, corn, grain sorghum, green peas, hybrid corn seed, spring oats, perennial forage, popcorn, processing beans, processing pumpkins, soybeans and sweet corn, according to a news release.

With the season’s dry weather conditions, crop insurers encourage producers to contact their crop insurance agents if they have concerns about crop loss.
