Bulls mum on Asik

The Bulls have almost two weeks to decide whether to pay a steep price for backup center Omer Asik or lose him to the Houston Rockets.

As of Monday, they're not offering any clues about which decision they might make.

"In the end, we'll weigh everything out, and then we'll make a decision," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said.

Thibodeau and Bulls general manager Gar Forman spoke during an introductory news conference for Marquis Teague, their first-round pick in last week's NBA draft. Both men praised Teague but dodged questions about what other moves could be in store in the coming weeks.

The Houston Rockets offered Asik a three-year deal worth $25.1 million overall, Yahoo Sports first reported. Asik is a restricted free agent, which means that the Bulls will have three days to decide whether to match the offer once it becomes official July 11.

Asik, who turns 26 years old on Wednesday, averaged 3.1 points and 5.3 rebounds a game in 66 games (two starts) last season.
