Chicago O'Hare gets another quick security lane

CHICAGO – A small number of frequent travelers are being sped through a second special security lane at O'Hare International Airport as part of an expanded program by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.

The federal agency on Wednesday opened the security lane at Terminal 1 for United Airlines passengers who volunteered to take part in the pre-screening program. American Airlines already had a special line at O'Hare.

The "PreCheck" program is part of the Obama administration's move away from a one-size-fits-all security approach. In exchange for the lower-hassle security lines, qualifying passengers have to share more personal information with the government.
