Scholarship available for graduate studies

The DeKalb County Community Foundation has announced the formation of a new education scholarship that focuses on education beyond an undergraduate degree. The Spinoso Masters Scholarship, worth up to $10,000, is available to graduates of DeKalb County high schools who are working on furthering their formal education.

The scholarship has been developed by the Spinoso family of Sycamore because they feel there is a need to build leaders for the future and continued education will be necessary to give them a strong foundation.

“There is a lot of opportunity for funding assistance in our county to earn an undergraduate degree, but we did not see anything to assist someone financially beyond the bachelor’s degree and felt this would be an area that we could make an impact in the future,” Vivian and John Spinoso said in a news release.
