I was into the early stages of sleep Friday night. It was slightly past my normal bedtime. I was tired. My wife awoke me with the startling announcement, “There’s water all over the floor of the bathroom.” Needless to say I was not amused.

My first thought was, “So what?” Then I began some more rational thinking. “What can I do? How much does a plumber charge in the middle of the night? How does this crisis affect my golf game planned for Saturday morning?”

All of these thoughts occurred while I was still in bed, avoiding the reality.
