Duffy: A full summer in DeKalb
Now that summer is in full swing, it’s the time of year to enjoy baseball, golf, swimming pools and take vacations. Many people look outside of the area for things to do. Don’t forget about all of the great opportunities here in the DeKalb area. Whether it’s cooling off at the Hopkins Park pool, enjoying a DeKalb County Liners game, playing a round at a local golf course, or one of the many other local favorite activities such as the farmers market, a community band concert or an art show at the Ellwood House, DeKalb has a summer full of great opportunities without leaving town.
July also includes a full schedule of events for the DeKalb Chamber that you are invited to attend.
July 10 – The July Chamber After Hours offers a fun chance to check out a number of downtown DeKalb businesses. A trivia challenge allows participants the chance to learn more about some of the unique offerings in downtown DeKalb. Each visit provides an opportunity to win one of the many prizes provided by those participating member businesses, including a large prize drawn at the end. Everyone is invited to attend with a special sneak peek at the new NB&T location before it opens. The event is free, so be sure to bring your family and friends to enjoy this special event.
