Bigger restaurant, same taste after 40 years

Rosita’s Mexican Restaurant in DeKalb started out as a tiny operation 40 years ago, but you wouldn’t know it today.

Owners Luis and Beatriz Balli bought a former pizza place in 1972 with the intention of turning it into a Mexican restaurant. Back then, the restaurant on East Lincoln Highway fit only 10 to 12 tables in the small space.

“It was tiny, tiny,” said Jennifer Herr-
mann, who has managed Rosita’s for 26 years.
