YORKVILLE – A collision between a Shetland pony and an all-terrain vehicle left the pony dead and the ATV driver facing a DUI charge.
Authorities in Yorkville said the accident happened Sunday.
Police said the pony was on the road when the crash happened. The animal had to be euthanized because of the back injury it suffered in the accident.
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Department said the ATV’s 33-year-old driver was taken to Morris Hospital with a head injury.
The department said he’s been charged with driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license.
