History museum schedules family programs
Looking for something free or very affordable to do with your family this summer? The Sycamore History Museum has the answer for families with children of all ages. There are story times, gardening talks, visits by local authors and the opportunity to create your own family history box. These programs are in addition to the exhibit, “Why Sycamore Works,” that includes a children’s play room and scavenger hunt.
“Sometimes history has a bad reputation for being boring,” Michelle Donahoe, executive director said in a news release. “Our job at the Sycamore History Museum is to show people, of all ages, how history can really be fun, entertaining, and educational at the same time. On Family Fun Days, the second Saturday in July and August, you can also experience first-hand young adults who are passionate about history when you go on a tour led by our Junior Docents,” she continued.
