Student awarded Malta Lions Scholarship

Quinn Peterson from Malta was awarded the Malta Lions Scholarship on May 23, at the DeKalb High School Academic Honors Night. Next year, Quinn will attend Kishwaukee College, Malta.

For the past eight years, a DeKalb High School Senior who resides within the former Malta School district boundaries is awarded a $600 scholarship. A committee of DeKalb High School faculty members choose the recipient based upon scholarship and involvement in activities.

The Malta Lions raise the scholarship money through many fundraising projects and from several individual donations. The DeKalb County Community Foundation invests and administers the scholarship funds. Anyone who wishes to donate a tax-exempt gift to the Malta Lions Scholarship can send their donation either to the Malta Lions Club, Gary Kuhn, Treasurer, 24284 Schafer Road, Clare, IL 60111, or the DeKalb County Community Foundation, 2225 Gateway Drive, DeKalb, IL 60115.
