The Tribute to Heroes committee is looking for nominees for the 2012 award.

The Tribute to Heroes Awards recognizes members of the DeKalb County communities who have unselfishly dedicated themselves to community service and to the welfare and development of its youth, according to a news release from event organizers.

Leadership, citizenship and helping others are important qualities that the Boy Scouts of America instills in its youth and looks for in adult leaders. The honorees provide excellent examples of not only these qualities but also community responsibility and personal integrity, best typifying the objectives of Scouting, according to the news release.
