The motto for the First United Methodist Church of DeKalb is “living Christ’s presence through love and service.”

Member Connie McCleary is taking the last word of that motto and putting into action as she has helped plan a summer long meal program that will provide lunch for children and their parents every weekday for the next three months.

Starting Monday, lunches will be served every Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church on the corner of Fourth and Oak streets. The program will run through Aug. 24.
