High-tech camping trend continues in new season

A warm spring drove campers out earlier this year, giving those in the local camping industry high hopes at the start of the season.

Shabbona Lake State Park in Shabbona and Sycamore RV Resort in Sycamore were filled during Memorial Day weekend, which usually kicks off camping season. That means all 85 spots in Sycamore and all 150 campsites in Shabbona were filled.

“Memorial Day is the biggest weekend of the year,” said Molly Haseman, office coordinator at Shabbona Lake State Park.
