Prep roundup: Coia’s three goals lead Knights

Jessica Coia had a hat trick in the Kaneland girls soccer team’s 7-0 win over Morris. Madi Jurcenko and Brittany Olson each scored twice for the Knights (9-4-1, 4-2-1 Northern Illinois Big 12).

Coia, Olson, Taylor White, Courtney Diddell, Taylor Opperman, Melissa Bohorquez and Katie Taylor all had assists for Kaneland, which scored six goals in the first half.

BOYS TRACK

Weissinger, Klambauer lead H-BR: Hinckley-Big Rock competed in a five-team meet at Amboy. Bill Weissinger won the high jump for the Royals, finishing with a mark of 5 feet, 10 inches. He was third in the shot put (38-8) and fourth in the discus (108-2).

H-BR’s Andrew Klambauer won the long jump (17-9) and took fourth in the triple jump (36-6).

MONDAY’S POSTPONEMENTS

Inclement weather caused several postponements throughout the area. Sycamore baseball’s game at Yorkville has been postponed until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. DeKalb’s game against Rochelle at Huntley Middle School and Kaneland’s contest at Morris have also been moved to the same time and date.

The Hinckley-Big Rock baseball game at Hiawatha has been postponed to a date to be determined.

The Sycamore softball game at Yorkville has been postponed to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Kaneland’s softball game against Oswego East has been postponed until 4:30 p.m. May 16.
