District 302 takes step to spell out bullying policy

MAPLE PARK – Kaneland School District 302 is a step closer to spelling out its bullying policy in the student handbook.

School board members Monday approved the first reading of changes to the handbook, which would include a definition of the district’s bullying policy and three levels of intervention.

The district has not had those things defined in its handbook, but a policy to deal with bullying had been in place. Many of the actions are covered under harassment policies in the handbook.
