Assistant state’s attorney fired
SYCAMORE – After a felony prosecutor in the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office was fired last week, the state’s attorney said he will begin soliciting resumes for the open position.
Former Assistant State’s Attorney Nick Gaeke said he was fired Friday afternoon and has not spoken with State’s Attorney Clay Campbell about it.
Campbell declined to comment on the situation except to say that the office has an opening, and he may promote another prosecutor or hire outside the office.
