Sveum takes on old team

CHICAGO – Cubs manager Dale Sveum gets his first crack at his old team the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at Wrigley Field.

Sveum was with for the Brewers for six seasons, most recently as their hitting coach. Third baseman Aramis Ramirez returns to Wrigley after joining Milwaukee during the offseason. Ramirez spent nine seasons with the Cubs and hit 239 home runs while batting .294.

Chris Volstad makes his first career start in a Cubs uniform and the Brewers send Shaun Marcum to the mound. Volstad is 1-1 with a 1.71 ERA in four career starts versus the Brewers.

Blake DeWitt (back spasms) is available off the bench today after being scratched from yesterday's starting lineup. Sveum said his back "is not great" but DeWitt is able to play if needed.
