Shabbona Lake to offer 2 fishing events

April is here, fishing is very good and Shabbona Lake is having two mega fishing events. The first is a “Going For The Illinois State Record Muskie” weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The following weekend is “Going For The Illinois State Record Walleye” weekend on April 20, 21 and 22.

Help to bring two more Illinois State Records to Shabbona Lake. Shabbona Lake has had four State Of Illinois Records in its Muskie legacy and two State Of Illinois Record Hybrid Crappie. There is no other lake in Illinois that has had more than one State Record, while Shabbona Lake has had six.

Shabbona Lake’s current Lake Record of 37 pounds, 13 ounces and is only 11 ounces short of the current State Of Illinois Record. There have already been two new State of Illinois Record Walleye.
