Please sexercise responsibly
Besides exercising, sex can really rev up the heart.
I can’t think of a better way to get a work out. Sex is a heart healthy activity. Not only is it physically enjoyable, it also is emotionally satisfying. Kill two birds with one stone.
As responsible sexually active people, we need to make sure that we are keeping ourselves protected from sexually transmitted diseases and unplanned pregnancy. Of course, after this we can reap the benefits of sex.
A 30-minute sex jaunt can burn up to about 100 calories – the calorie count in a mini candy bar. It’s a nice cardio workout while building endurance. Having responsible sex is a win-win situation for someone’s physical, social and mental dimensions of health.
Apparently, there is a perpetuating design between exercise and having sex. We understand both activities are good for you, so what is the correlation? Here is one answer from Dr. Mark Stibich: “Eighty percent of men and 60 percent of females who exercised two to three times weekly rated their own sexual desirability as above average. As the number of days of exercise per week increased, so did the ratings of sexual desirability.”
An absolute joy to know that a sex life can be better when you exercise!
Let us break down this concept. One reason people who exercises have more sex could be they are more likely to show their affection through physical touch. As we learned in previous blog entries about the five love languages by author Gary Chapman, people that enjoy physical touch may find satisfaction in relationships as well as stress relief while working out and having sexual relations.
Secondly, a chemical reaction in the brain happens during sex and during exercise. The feel-good chemicals called endorphins surge while working out and having sex. This can attract anyone to do both of these sometimes physically trying activities. Who doesn’t want a natural high?
Lastly, weight management can be controlled with exercise. People that exercise have confidence. Confidence means a positive body image. A positive body image means engaging in more sex.
All in all, working out and having sex is a cycle of health. Everyone should sexercise responsibly!
