ROCKFORD – A DeKalb man has been sentenced to 80 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography that crossed state lines.

During a Thursday court hearing in Rockford, Dominick Pelletier, 34, was sentenced to the prison time and five years of parole, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.

According to court documents, Pelletier applied to the FBI for employment as an intelligence analyst. He underwent a polygraph examination in August 2008 as part of the standard employment application process. During a post-polygraph interview with FBI agents, Pelletier admitted he thought he had trouble during the polygraph examination with a question relating to child pornography. Pelletier later admitted there were images of child pornography on his computer at his home, and he allowed his computer to be searched. He pleaded guilty Aug. 16, admitting to having a computer with images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
