Film series focuses on economic justice

Church and state are on a collision course at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in DeKalb.

The church will debut a film series titled “Cultivating Hope: Economic Justice” tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the church at 158 N. Fourth St. The five-month long series will feature eight films about the economic collapse and different ways to create a new healthy and sustainable economy.

Dan Kenney, a member of the committee that organized the series, said the goal of the screenings is to spark community discussion and educate residents on some of the factors that have led to the economic downturn.
