Barbs collecting donations for Johntell Franklin

The DeKalb boys basketball team will be collecting donations to help the family of Milwaukee Madison star Johntell Franklin at Friday's home game against Rochelle.

The Barbs' sports boosters will also donate the proceeds from the game's 50/50 raffle to Franklin's family.

DeKalb will then head to Milwaukee on Saturday as guests of the Milwaukee Bucks as the Kapco's "Home Court Heroes" along with Milwaukee Madison. The Barbs will practice in the morning before going to a Lions' Club breakfast in Malta and then leaving for the Bucks' game around 2:30 p.m.

The team will be interviewed during the game for Milwaukee Bucks TV and the team will be recognized on the floor during the game as well.
