July 26 Identity theft - David Arturo Bautista, 29, of Cortland was arrested in the 500 block of DeKalb Avenue around 10:30 a.m. for financial identity theft. Beth L. Organista, 25, of Cortland was arrested at the same time on three failure-to-appear warrants. DUI - Police were called to a drive-thru in the 1200 block of DeKalb Avenue around 1:30 p.m. in response to an intoxicated person. Michael Johnson, 44, of Sycamore was charged with driving under the influence and was taken to the county jail. July 27 Driving with a suspended license - Police stopped Nicole Ohlhaber, 18, of Sycamore for a registration check in the 1400 block of DeKalb Avenue around 11:15 p.m. She was arrested for driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and possession of drug equipment. She was released on bond. July 28 Battery - Four people were charged with battery and disorderly conduct after a fight around 7:30 p.m. in the 23000 block of Peace Road. Charged were Adam B. Mattingly, 25, Steven M. Rosenberg, 22, Michael Britton Tweed, 20, all of Sycamore, and Matthew A. Wade, 23, of DeKalb. All four were released on bond. Warrant arrest - Peter-Paul D. Mabrie, 17, of Sycamore was arrested on a juvenile warrant in the 400 block of West State Street around 7:30 p.m. July 29 Consumption of alcohol by minors - Police responded to an underage drinking party in the 200 block of North Cross Street around 11:15 p.m. One juvenile was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor, one was arrested on a juvenile warrant and three were issued curfew violations. Aug. 1 Improper backing - A two-car accident occurred in front of the DeKalb County Courthouse in the 100 block of West State Street around 3:15 p.m. Police said Robert McGraw, 78, of South Elgin backed into traffic and hit a City of Sycamore Public Works truck. McGraw then continued backward, running over a curb and tree before striking a building at 114 W. State Street, police said. The car bounced off the building and came to rest near the traffic light at the corner of Route 64 and Main Street. Police said McGraw accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake after the initial impact. He was charged with improper backing and released on bond. Police said McGraw refused medical treatment, and the city employee driving the truck was treated for minor injuries and released. Aug. 3 Warrant arrest - Adam Ziegler, 19, of Geneva was arrested around 1:45 p.m. in the 100 block of West Exchange Street on a Kane County warrant for domestic battery. He was also charged with possession of marijuana. Aug. 4 Driving with a suspended license - Police stopped Katie M. Seelinger, 24, of Kirkland in the 1600 block of Bethany Road around 10 p.m. and charged her with driving with a suspended license. She was released on bond. Aug. 5 Theft under $300 - Thomas E. Michaels, 18, of Sycamore was arrested in the 100 block of West State Street around 12:30 a.m. and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and theft under $300. Monday Driving with a suspended license - Angel Hernandez, 27, of Sycamore was arrested in the 100 block of West Ottawa Street around 11 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license. He was released on bond. Driving without a license - Police stopped Armondo Cordoba, 22, of DeKalb in the 12500 block of Route 64 around 2:45 p.m. and charged him with driving without a license and driving without insurance. He was released on bond. Tuesday Driving with a suspended license - David L.P. Wilson, 37, of Eldena was arrested in the 12500 block of Route 64 around 9:15 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license. Thursday Driving with a suspended license - Police stopped Ruben Landa, 25, of DeKalb in the 1300 block of DeKalb Avenue around 3:45 p.m. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, and police said they confiscated a false ID badge from a local business. Further charges of identity theft may be pending. He was released on bond for the traffic arrest. Warrant arrest - Mitchell Jacobson, 20, of Sycamore turned himself in to police on an Ogle County warrant around 5:15 p.m. He was taken to the county jail. DUI - Richard Hanrahan, 39, of Esmond was arrested during a traffic stop in the 1300 block of DeKalb Avenue around 7 p.m. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and driving without proof of insurance. He was also arrested on an Ogle County warrant for driving with a suspended license and other traffic charges. Due to numerous prior DUI charges, his vehicle was seized. Hanrahan was taken to the county jail.
